1 In the past decade AMUs, as a base for the practise of acute internal medicine (AIM), have become integral to the care pathway of most patients who require hospital-based acute medical care in the UK. 2,3 Other countries are increasingly adopting Journal of Acute Medicine (JACME) is the official peer-reviewed and open access publication of the Taiwan Society of Emergency Medicine.
